It is with great pleasure that I announce the UMD Voice Winter Issue. This time we have more original content, and as usual, varied articles on different aspects of the Macedonian experience...from three continents!
It’s time for all Macedonians to stand up and be counted. For the first time, this is possible as leaders from major Macedonian organizations in the United States are committed to seeing that each Macedonian is counted in the 2010 U.S. Census, which begins in January. To accomplish this goal, they formed the Macedonian American 2010 Census Project Coalition.
The United Macedonian Diaspora (UMD) in commemoration of the 61st Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights urges Bulgaria and Greece to recognize the existence of the Macedonian minority within their borders. UMD calls upon the European Union to ensure that their two member states Bulgaria and Greece uphold the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the Framework Convention for the Protection of National Minorities.
